The water supply line from Papalini Spring serving the municipalities of  Crespadoro and S. Pietro Mussolino had already been replaced up to the section immediately downstream from the UV system. With this project, the municipal authorities requested the substitution of the remaining section approx. 665 m long between the UV system’s selective check dam with electrowelded steel De 250 piping to be laid in the bed of the existing pipeline along the Vicinale dei Papalini Road along the Chiampo Stream. The materials chosen and the technical solutions adopted  were linked closely to the local environmental conditions, which due to the presence of extended rocky sections with slippage tendency required the use of pipelines in electrowelded steel longitudinally lined with centrifuged mortar externally sheathed in light-blue coloured extruded triple-layer polyethylene provided with additional anti-rock protection. The intervention required excavation to a depth of around 1.10 m,  a minimum 0.75 m covering over the pipeline, and the laying of a 10 cm layer of macadam over the existing mountain road for the entire length of the project.
